Open Gardens Day on Sunday June 11th from 10am to 5pm.
Herne & Broomfield 15th annual Garden Safari, will take place on Sunday June 11th. We don’t have stately homes or vast acres but we have one of the biggest Open Gardens Day in Kent, there will be 17 gardens open. The gardens range from the tiny but perfectly formed to large and lovely, with some ‘still a work in progress’. The gardens include both Herne Infant and Junior Schools, the allotment gardens in Ford Road and St Martin’s Churchyard.
Entry is by Programme (with brief descriptions of gardens and map) which costs £4 a head (accompanied children free). Programmes are available from Herne Mill, Mill Lane, Herne, CT6 7DR (near Herne Bay) and participating gardens. There will be a raffle, art display and plants for sale. Refreshments include Ploughman’s lunches, Cream Teas and Cakes, available at selected gardens.
Proceeds will be shared between Catching Lives, Registered Charity No. 1014868 & Herne Community Centre Project.
