Please see attached letter from a Telecommunications consultant regarding the installation of a 25m high mast at the entrance to Herne village, adjacent to the pond at Curtis Wood Park.
Proposed location: South East Water Compound, Canterbury Road, Herne, Kent, CT6 7LU (NGR: 618226, 165680)
Proposed development: Insallation of 1no 25m CMF1 monopole which will support 6no antennas and 4no dishes, along with 4no cabinets at ground level, timber fencing around the apparatus and ancillary works thereto. This is to be set within the exisiting southeast water compound, set back from Canterbury Road.
Please see 2 page letter attached.
It appears that only six properties adjacent to the proposed site were consulted with no formal letter sent to the parish council, merely an email copy. The consultation period was also only limited to 2 weeks which does not allow for a full council discussion. Other local residents have now been informed by the neighbouring recipients of the letter, they were very concerned they had not been notified of this proposal.
The height of the mast would be higher than the existing mature trees and is located in a low lying area of the village.
Although mobile phone users want to have a good signal, do they want a mast at this location?
