KCC Margate Road Interchange, Herne Bay (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING)

TEMPORARY ORDER 2020
To allow replacement works to be carried out to a failed bridge expansion joint,
 
Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Margate Road Interchange, Herne Bay.
A closure is planned from 3rd August 2020, between the hours of 19:30 and 05:00, with estimated completion by 7th August 2020. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage on site and the works will be displayed on one.network
Margate Road Interchange will be closed between the junctions with The Boulevard and Willow Farm Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
 
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while replacement works of a failed bridge expansion joint are undertaken by Kent County Council.
The alternative route for any through traffic travelling southbound is via A299 Thanet Way (Coast Bound), Sweechbridge Road, Maystreet, Heart In Hand Road and A299 Thanet Way.
The alternative route for any through traffic travelling northbound is via Margate Road, A299 Thanet Way (London Bound), Canterbury Road, A299 Thanet Way (Coast Bound) and Margate Road.
Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
